Eye-level view of a large outdoor training field in Putrajaya with participants engaged in a group exercise
18 athletes aged 9–15 participated in the Putrajaya training camp.

Why training camp helps—for kids and parents

Perks: For athletes, camp sharpens skills and builds stronger teamwork. For parents, you get a peaceful week (you’re welcome 😄).

Parents, did you enjoy a little quiet time?

  • Yes 😌

  • No, I missed them ❤️

Putrajaya Training Camp Wrap-Up

Who: 18 athletes aged 9–15

When: 4 days together: lots of work, lots of laughs, and yes, some (a lot) complaints too. Many were first-time campers and beginners, so there were many firsts.

What did we do?

  • Hill runs and stairs at parks + running drills in the pool

  • Team-building: games, drama night, picnic, Maggie night, and a small gift exchange

  • Daily duties: sweep, mop, prep simple group meals, wash up, tidy, pack, move as a team

  • Low-tech problem solving: use creativity without phones

  • Guest session: trained with new friends from SMK Taman SEA (Sir Zol)

Which drawing of Coach Valen is the best?

  • Coach Valen 1

  • Coach Valen 2

  • Coach Valen 3

What did we achieve?

  • Fitness: improved a little (it was a short camp), but that was not the only goal

  • Main goal: push athletes beyond comfort zones, build communication and cooperation

  • In other words, strong life skills were learned

From teammates, to teammates.
From teammates, to teammates.

What did we learn?

  • Independence: clean up your own mess, keep track of your things, pack your own bag

  • Respect and care: keep rooms and shared spaces clean, help your teammates

  • Time: be on time, move as one, listen first, act fast

  • Lead by serving: assign tasks, assist juniors, check equipment, report problems early

Some athletes loved the camp. Some found it harder than expected. Both are normal. Growth comes from trying, learning, and coming back again.

What’s next

Regular training continues. Keep the habits you learned: pack the night before, hydrate, sleep well, and write in your training book. See you at the next session.

Thank you

To parents, thank you for trusting us. To coaches and leaders, thank you for your energy and care. To all athletes, well done for pushing through and supporting one another.

Photos and feedback

Here are some favourite photos. We’ll share a small album in the WhatsApp group.

Some parents have already called to ask about their child’s progress. If you’d like an update, message us and we’ll call you too.

Have feedback? We’d love to hear it.
