When are your training days and what is the duration of each session?The duration of each session depends on the workout of that day. Minimum training is 1 hour, and the maximum duration of a session is 2 hours. For the latest schedules and updates, please download our app.

How do you determine the age group for my child?We categorise children based on their YEAR of birth. For instance: a child born in 2010 will be placed in the 12y/o category in 2022, regardless of their specific birthdate. Similarly, those born in 2009 will be in the 13y/o category in 2022. Note: KinderJumpStart is designed for ages 5-8. Kids Athletics A & B is designed for ages 9-12 (U12). If your child turns 13 in 2022, they should enroll in Athletics Development.

I am interested in joining the training but I've never done any athletics training before, can I still join?Absolutely, we welcome participants of all skill levels and fitness backgrounds. You will be grouped according to your ability to ensure you're in a suitable and comfortable training environment.

What kind of training do you do?Basic motor skills for early age, basic running techniques, kids' athletics, sprint & hurdles, race-walking, middle long distance , strength & fitness training, athletics clinic, team-building, online fitness training.

What is the minimum age?Our program is suitable for students from the age of 5. However, in order to keep the training experience the best it can be for everyone, we would observe younger kids on their first two training sessions to see if they are ready to train in group as they may have a shorter attention span and may have trouble following instructions. If the kid is not ready for group classes, then we'd recommend them to start with a few private sessions until they are ready to join the group training.

Do you offer one-to-one training?We offer one-on-one running/racewalking coaching and personal training. If you are interested in learning about personal or group training, please go to Private Training tab for more info.

Can I walk-in, or do I have to be a member?Yes, please feel free to join us anytime. However, the walk-in fee varies and you will need to bear the full cost of all the competition registration fees when participating in any competition. You will benefit in many ways by becoming an active member.

Can I visit for a try out before joining?If you're not sure if we're the right club for you, we offer a walk-in at a fee for anyone to try out and decide for themselves before joining. You can purchase the walk-in token here.

What should I wear and bring to training?An appropriate athletic attire. Sport shoes, a small training journal with a pen, and a WATCH to take your rest time. Do bring hand sanitizer, extra masks, water bottle, towel, and training mat (most warm-up exercises require you to lie down on the floor). Tight-fitting shirts showing any part of an athlete's midriff are not allowed.

What should I take note on my first training?It is the parents' responsibility to inform coaches of any medical issues or past injuries of their child before the training starts.

Can I train without spike shoes?Not all training is done at the stadium/track, thus, spike shoes are not compulsory. Also, there is no need to purchase spikes to run on the track for beginners in the first 3 months of their training. It's not recommended to buy a fancy pair of spike shoes until you know what you're looking for and you should discuss with the coach before buying them.

What should I wear if i'm going to compete for Kawan Athletics?We have club official kit that can be purchased (e.g. tracksuit, vest & etc). These are required when you are representing Kawan Athletics and competing in competitions and events. We love the team atmosphere of everyone wearing the official kit! I do other sports (e.g. squash, tennis, taekwondo, football), but can I join to improve certain skills?Yes, we have football, tennis and cricket players in our family, some are here for speed and agility, some are here for coordination and flexibility. Just let us know what you'd like to focus on more, and we will design the training that's suitable for you.

What is the minimum age?Our program is tailored for students aged 9-12. For younger participants, we may assess their readiness during the first two sessions to ensure they can follow instructions and maintain focus. If needed, we recommend starting with private sessions before transitioning to group training. For kids younger than 9, please refer to KinderJumpStart on the FAQ.

I'm not sure what age group is my kid..We will categorise your kids to their age group according to their YEAR of birth. For example: Anyone born in the year 2010 will be in the 12y/o category in 2022 regardless of their birth month and date. Likewise, 2009 kids will be in the 13y/o category in 2022. Kids Athletics A & B is only for kids aged between 7-12 (U12). If your kid is turning 13 in 2022, then he/she does not fall under U12 category and should purchase Athletics Development/Athletics Performance.

What is kids' athletics?Our kids' athletics program focuses on building a solid foundation in FUNdamental movement skills such as running, walking, throwing, jumping and coordination. These skills will increase their potential to excel in any sport in the future. There's no specification (sprint/long distance only) in kids' athletics unless requested by parents.

What else do you focus on?Other than movement skills, we are also looking at teamwork, strategic thinking, and life skills. We would also send them to competitions for individual events and team events to gain experience and exposure that they will need when they represent the school, district, state, and open competitions in the future.

What is the difference between Kids' Athletics A and Kids' Athletics B?Kids' Athletics A: Focuses on basic running training to improve motor skills and running technique. Participants have access to basic sports equipment and do not compete until advancing to Kids' B. Kids' A is a prerequisite for Kids' B and is compulsory for newcomers. Kids' Athletics B: Designed for those ready for moderate to higher intensity training. Participants learn hurdles, jumping, throwing, pacing, and racing strategies with a primary focus on running. All necessary equipment is provided.

I signed up for Kids' Athletics A. Can I come for Kids' Athletics B training?Only athletes who have passed the assessment in Kids' Athletics A can advance to Kids' Athletics B training. I signed up for Kids' Athletics A, can I join external competition?No, Kids' Athletics A participants are not eligible for external competitions due to the following reasons: 1. They are new to the sport. 2. They are still unable to complete a full warm-up independently. 3. They may have difficulty following instructions.

What is KinderJumpStart?KinderJumpStart is a dynamic program designed to introduce kids to a blend of fun activities, games, and fundamental skills development.

What should my child wear and bring to KinderJumpStart?Comfortable athletic wear is recommended, and please note that children will be barefoot during indoor activities. Please bring a water bottle for hydration. Additionally, keep a pair of shoes in their bag as we may have outdoor activities following the indoor session.

Can parents observe the KinderJumpStart sessions?To promote independent engagement, we encourage parents not to observe the class directly and to wait outside. This ensures a focused environment for our young participants and helps avoid overcrowding indoors.

Will the KinderJumpStart program be held at outdoor venues?No, the program is exclusively conducted indoors at our dedicated center. This ensures a controlled and safe environment for all activities, allowing us to focus on providing a quality experience for our young participants. We are planning to have outdoor sessions soon, but they will be exclusively for kids who are ready for outdoor classes.

My child is younger than 9, is she/he eligible for Kids Athletics A?The minimum age for Kids Athletics A is 9. However, participation depends on the coach's assessment of the child's readiness for outdoor training, considering their ability to follow instructions and fitness level. We aim to maintain a consistent level of understanding and fitness within the class to ensure a positive experience for all participants.

What is the minimum number of athletes for class to start?A minimum of five (5) athletes must book to proceed with the session. If the number of athletes booking falls below five (5), the session will be cancelled and the affected athletes will be notified in advance.

What is the token forfeiture policy for booking cancellations?After booking a training session, please be aware that even if you wish to cancel, your token will still be forfeited. This policy is in place because the training will proceed as scheduled with a minimum of four athletes.

Why must I book a class?Booking a class is necessary to secure your spot. It also allows coaches to plan the session effectively and maintain a good training flow.

What is the latest booking time?The booking window is 12 hours before the class starts. For example, if the class starts at 8 AM on Saturday, the last booking is at 8 PM on Friday.

What if I didn't book for the session and still want to attend the training?Mandatory Booking Policy: All members must make a booking to participate in training sessions. Failure to book will result in the inability to join the session. Walk-ins or on-the-spot bookings will not be permitted. However, if you missed the booking window, you can message the coach to inquire if there are any available slots for the session.

Why do middle & long distance (MLD) athletes need to start training at 8:00am on Saturday?Longer training duration: MLD athletes require additional time for their training compared to other athletes. Starting at 8:00 AM allows them to complete their workouts without feeling rushed or compromising the quality of their training. Avoiding hot weather: By starting at 8:00 AM, we aim to provide MLD athletes with more comfortable temperatures and minimize their exposure to hot weather, given the longer distances they cover during the training sessions.

Why do we need to arrive on time?Late comers cause disruptions to our training sessions. These disruptions not only affect the flow of the training and impact the experience of other members but pose an increased risk of injury for latecomers who miss out on proper warm-up.

What if I am late for training?Late Arrival Policy: Members are required to arrive on time. Entry will not be permitted for arrivals beyond the first 10 minutes after the scheduled start time. We would like to emphasize that even latecomers within the 10-minute grace period will not be allowed to join the training if they are frequent latecomers. Under our late arrival policy, particularly Kids Athletics A and newcomers, are expected to arrive on time for their training sessions. It is especially important for them as they learn and participate in warm-up moves alongside the group. Arriving late significantly hinders their progress and disrupts the warm-up routines for other students. Therefore, we kindly request that parents ensure their children arrive on time to avoid missing out on these important warm-up activities.

I can only attend 3 physical training sessions a month due to personal reasons, can I get a refund or use the remaining tokens for an online training session?Unless stated otherwise, all physical training plan tokens can only be used for the physical session. If attending all sessions is not possible, we suggest you select walk-in.

What happens if I still have a session left on my plan after the expiry date?All training sessions need to be booked and taken prior to the expiration date for each training package. For instance, if your plan expires on January 31, you must take all classes on or before January 31. Unused sessions cannot be rolled over to the following subscription, the unused sessions will be forfeited.

Can I suspend or extend my plan?We do not allow suspensions or extensions unless you are injured or sick, in which case we will ask for a medical certificate from your doctor. Please note that every pricing plan has a valid period, kindly check and plan before you purchase any plan.

Do I need to book a session on competition day?Yes, you are required to book a session on competition day.​

Do you have training on public holidays?All training sessions will automatically be cancelled if it falls on a public holiday and we are not obligated to replace these classes. However, we will announce in advance if we are holding a session on a public holiday.

What happens if the coach is unavailable?If the coach is unavailable, another coach will take over the session. Training will continue as usual without any interruptions.

What happens if a session is cancelled?If training sessions are cancelled due to competitions or emergencies, we will provide advance notice and arrange for a make-up session for those who didn't take part in the competitions. We are not obliged to offer a make-up session in the case of a cancelled session - if the day of the class is a public holiday, - If the weather gets bad after starting the workout

Can I transfer or share sessions?No, sessions are not transferrable and sessions cannot be shared with more than one person (unless stated otherwise) as all sessions plan is for individual use only.

How will I receive a confirmation informing me that I am booked in?Once you have booked a class, you will receive a confirmation email that also includes the details of the booked class. Take note: Your booking hasn't been made if you didn't receive a confirmation email. For Zoom session, a link will be emailed to you.

What happens if a session is cancelled?You will receive a class cancellation email and it will be stated in the announcement on our mobile app. In order to receive the notification, kindly download our app here. If the training sessions are cancelled due to competitions, we will provide advance notice and extend for those who didn't take part in the competitions. We are not obliged to offer a make-up session in the case of a cancelled session - if the day of the class is a public holiday, - If the weather gets bad after starting the workout

How many students can participate in one session?Minimum 1 to Maximum of 3 students per session to ensure personalized attention and quality training.

How much does each session cost?The rate for each session can be discussed with the Head Coach. Please inquire about pricing details during your initial contact.

How long is each session?The standard duration for each session is 1 hour. However, the length can be extended based on your specific needs, which will be discussed with the Head Coach.

Can I start the session early if I arrive before the scheduled time?Yes, however, please discuss this with your coach first.

Do I need to make a payment before the session?Yes, a 50% deposit is required one day before the session to secure your place. The remaining payment can be made after the session is completed. Please be advised that the deposit is non-refundable in the event of any last-minute cancellations or failure to attend the session without providing prior notice of at least 1 hour.

What happens if I arrive late?If you arrive late for the session, the session will end at the originally scheduled time.

What happens if the weather is bad?In case of bad weather, we will reschedule your session to the next available time.

Is there a whatsapp group?Yes​, once you are confirmed going long term with us, you will be added into the parents' Whatsapp group, and your child into the athletes' group. For Kids Athletics, only Kids Athletics B's parents and students will be added to Whatsapp group.

What is the purpose of having a Whatsapp Group?It's for us to share important announcements/notices and the competition progression of the athletes.​

In what circumstances will I be removed from the group?When your child/you have been inactive for 30 days from the expiry date of the subscription. This is to keep our other athletes data protected. When you share irrelevant messages/negativity / fake news/spam in the group. When you use this group as a platform to air views/grievances regarding a coach, parent, or athlete.

Can I leave the group?You will miss out on some important notice, but yes, you can leave anytime you want to.

Do you put every notice to parents group?12 and Under 12 parents - Yes, we will post all U12 notices to the parents' group. Above 12 parents - No, we only post necessary/important notice into the group. Your child will learn to take instruction/information from the athletes' group, communicate with you, and make decisions. They also will learn to ask coaches if there's anything they don't understand. ​

How long does the delivery usually take?Most delivery takes about 7 to 20 days after your online payment is confirmed. Please expect 30 days delivery for bigger items. Please contact us before placing an urgent order to check whether the item is ready-stock.
