Five Silver Medals To Start The MSSD Season

First stop: MSSD. Let the season begin!

Good day everyone!

Today marks the season opener for many of our athletes.

Ilmi came to support Sky at MSSD Bangsar.

Sky Chen started his season strong by winning silver in the L12 Long Jump at MSSD Bangsar (KL), finishing just 0.01m away from gold. He is also the first Kawan athlete to step onto the podium this MSSD season. His friend Ilmi even came all the way from Petaling Jaya just to cheer him on. Many of our teammates are also trying to arrange their schedules to support friends competing in other districts and states.

It has been a strong opening to the MSSD season for our athletes, with five silver medals so far: Sky in Long Jump, Isabelle and Natasha in 800m, plus Zoey and Yong Shyn in 100m.

Yong Shyn secured 100m silver at MSSD Klang.

We wish all Kawan athletes the very best for their MSSD competitions. We hope to see more PBs, strong performances, and hopefully more podium finishes this year.

Our coaches will also be busy travelling from venue to venue to support everyone whenever

we can.

September: Multi Event Games (13 September 2026)

This competition will follow a points-based format. Athletes will collect points from each individual event, and the top 10 scorers will be awarded.

There will also be two relay events:

• 4x100m relay

• Medley relay: 200m, 200m, 400m, 400m

You may form your own relay team. When submitting the Google Form, please provide your team name and make sure all four teammates use the same team name.

If you do not have a team but would still like to join the relay, you may submit your interest in the form. We will help pair you with other athletes who are also looking for a team.

Take note: Relay events are non-scoring events. This means relay results will not be included in the individual points system.

• 5 December: Kawan Championship, 5th Edition

• 13-19 December: Motivational Training Camp (A 4D3N camp will be held within this date range. Final dates will be confirmed soon.)
